never had before, namely advertisements from British firms, for with the exception of the B.A.T. the A.P.0, and Nestles Milk, fow British firms ever advertise in the vernacular press, and if we pay for these advertisements at current rates, we can insist that if a paper is on our advertisement list, it must agree to publish our news. Te are adding articles on trade to our ordinary Bulletin and this the papers on our lists will have to publish.

If we can give British firms the means of advertis· -ing at cost, and can distribute trade lists etc. for nothing, it is thought that this will convenience British trade.

The scheme will shortly be in working order and the Committee feel that it will give them a strangle hold on a large portion of the vernacular press which could not be readily

got rid of.

This scheme, however, to be continued successfully requires the help of the Chamber of Commerce and promises to afford a most useful hold on the vernacular press which should be

invaluable to British trade.

The Propaganda Committee feel confident on the

far reaching effects of the schemes outlined above, and as soon as they are all in smooth working order, they will be quite prepared to resign and let the work be undertaken by the Chamber

of Commerce,

MOYON
